DEATH AL FRESCO. Book Four. MURDER FROM SCRATCH. DEATH AL FRESCO is an enjoyable book. The heroine is easy to like, the characters are diverse and unique, and the mystery kept me guessing. I also found the Santa Cruz setting to be quite appealing, and for those who like the food angle there were some enticing recipes included at the end.

Death al Fresco is the third book in the “A Sally Solari Mystery” series. It is a quick, enjoyable read with plenty of plot twists and clues that may or may not be what they seem. Leslie Karst is a wonderful writer who knows how to build suspense and intrigue without getting bogged down in unnecessary verbiage.
Yet another murder adds to a restaurant owner’s woes. Although Sally Solari is kept busy running Gauguin, her popular Santa Cruz restaurant, she still finds time to help her dad at Solari’s, the family restaurant on the pier, and take painting classes together with Eric, the ex with whom she maintains a friendly relationship.
